Source checks
Safety, regulation and species claims begin with primary public sources: responsible agencies, weather services, parks, waterways and conservation bodies.
Real authors
Named bylines are added only with the contributor’s consent and a verifiable biography. Until then, desk bylines identify editorial responsibility.
Clear advertising labels
Paid placements and affiliate links, if introduced, must be visibly labeled before the first relevant link. This launch edition contains neither.
Visible updates
Publication and update dates appear on articles. Material corrections receive a note describing what changed and why.
How we research
Primary source first
Research begins with the agency responsible for the subject and jurisdiction. We check the publication date, geographic scope and whether the information is advisory or legally binding.
Sources are linked near the relevant article. A source from one jurisdiction is not presented as a universal rule.
Field testing
No evidence, no score
This launch release makes no field-test claims. Future field notes must record the named tester, date, waterbody or jurisdiction, weather, water conditions, device and software version, battery state, offline behavior and the evaluation method.
Criteria may include usefulness, offline resilience, screen readability, battery impact, privacy permissions, accessibility and source transparency. A result applies only to the recorded conditions.
